GIRLS TOO

The Montreal -Turku exchangealso caused the girls' ice game 'ringette' to be introduced into Finland and Europe in 1979. Turku was the first place in which Juuso started the promotion.

Today ringette is part of Finnish girlsī physical education curriculum. The Finnish Ringette National Team in less than 25 years have reached the level of Canadian ringette.

In 1994 and 2001 Team Finland Finnish won the world championship. Politicians have often given the green light for the construction of hockey arenas in small Finnish towns and villages because of this 'girl factor'.
